I only wanna be with youuuuuuuuu

A lot has happened in the past three years.
We tend to do things fast, I guess, but there's nothing wrong with that.
The four years we've been together seem like a lifetime,
and I'm excited to spend the rest of my years with you.

Thanks for being my best friend.
Thanks for being silly with me.
Thanks for letting me know when I am being silly.
Thank you for being honest.
Thank you for supporting me.
Thank you for loving Jesus.

And thanks for loving me,
not just the mushy kind of love,
but the kind that will last forever.

Love you.

Here's a quick wedding recap in pictures for all of you who weren't able to be there-

Please excuse the fact that I am not looking at the camera.
And that fact that my husband looks like the kind of guy you DON'T want your children to be around.
(Don't be alarmed, he is a youth minister)
The pony length hair is my fault - he threatened to shave his head, I said don't touch your hair.
Be careful what you wish for.
The mustache, however, I had nothing to do with.
Guess he didn't know there would be pictures the night before????

My BFF's from High School call this the "traveling jacket."
Much like the traveling pants, it has made it to the big day of three of my closest and dearest friends.
There's no reason something this cute (or expensive) shouldn't get to make more than one appearance.

There are far too many little boys in our families to have chosen just one to be a ring bearer, so made them all dress in khaki and white and hand out water bottles. This picture is so cool. The water fountain was at the back of where our ceremony was held.

We had NINE people in our wedding party - on each side.
All my girls wore different dresses, and they were from Dillards, so totally,
for real
wear again dresses.

We had our siblings stand closest to us at the wedding. We had a Maid of Honor and Best Man, but these two were VIP's too.
My brother straightened my dress; what a little gentleman.

During the ceremony, our families came up and prayed over us. Really cool.

Look how beautiful this place is!!! There is a garden and the "mansion." We got married outside, on August 1, in the blazing heat, with no rain back-up plan, and it rained that morning! Thankfully the rain cooled it down a little, to something like 100 degrees.
My family made all the tablecloths, food, and decorations for our wedding.
They're pretty good at it, aren't they?

If only I had gotten to eat more than one bite of this cake!

The car we drove off in was fabulous, and so went with our vintagey theme!

Home Improvement

Source

So we're not as funny as Tim Allen, but we do a lot of home improvements. We (meaning my hubby) remodel houses. We start with this....

I'll spare you the toilet picture....take my word for it, you wouldn't want to see it

Whoa - look at all that red!! Coca-Cola theme is not really my style...

Check the "drop ceiling." No, this is not some sort of industrial building.

And somehow magically it turns into a place we can live in. And a cute place if I do say so myself. The process takes awhile, but little by little this house is shaping up. And so is the neighborhood!!!

Let me play out a little scenario for ya and you let me know what you think.

There's a house on my street, a house in which the owner died.
In like, Decemberish.
(I am not making light of this)
Now this house belongs to about 7 people, none of which live in town.
It is dilapidated.
I honestly think I could push it over.
And let's be honest, it's kind of an eyesore.
So someone (I will not name names or link to their blog)
and someone else (that may or may not live with me)
and someone else (I don't really know this someone...)
decided to spruce it up since we are all attempting to sell our houses.

And those people painted this house.

Without permission.

I'm sure the owners will thank these kind hearted, good-Samaritans, right????

And while it's not fantastic, it definitely is an improvement.
I think this neighborhood is on it's way up, despite the occasional drive by.

And we even got a driveway this weekend!!!

The Proposal

I fell in love on "date" 3.
I'm not sure you can even call it a "date" - we were hanging out in his garage watching a movie on the projector. We had been to the video store (that makes it seem like it was a long time ago since we don't have those anymore) and he had tackled me onto the ground. I laughed so hard I nearly wet my pants. I was in love.

When I left his house that night I texted my mom I was getting married.

He never asked me to be his girlfriend, I guess I just assumed I was. And eight long months later he still hadn't told me he loved me, and I was getting anxious. I wouldn't be the first to say it, but he has told me since then he knew.

Dinner that night was not fun. He had made me cry earlier that day and I was just waiting on him to break-up with me. He barely spoke to me the entire time.

Had he been anything but basically ignoring me for the week leading up to the proposal, I might have caught on; I still don't know how I missed it!

When we walked into the Power Shack (the place where we had our "first date" and I almost drowned in the pool) the floor was covered with candles and rose petals. He told me he loved me for the first time, which I originally thought all the to-do was about. He said we had both said it before, but that it didn't mean anything without a committment to go with it. Then he got on his knee and proposed. I laughed. And laughed. And never said yes, that I know of.

I'm not so sure how he could love that face...

When we walked into my house my friends and family were there to celebrate with us. I thought that was one of the best days of my life, but everyday since then has been better.

What's your proposal story?
